I got really upset today. We had around 30 people here for Easter and after the crowd kinda died down my 2 cousins, uncle, sister, and this other guy were all going after this squirrel. My uncle and the one guy had pellet or BB guns or something, I dunno. But they had already injured it and were throwing rocks trying to get it to come out so they could kill it.

I was sitting with everyone else on the porch, saying things (calmly) like, they should really just stop, it’s not fair, etc and I finally stood up and said “It’s 5 people and two guns against one little squirrel, they don’t need it for food, they’re just doing it for fun, they have no right to kill it, they’re taking a life for no good cause…” blah blah blah and I was rambling and my voice cracked and I started to cry and there was probably 7 people sitting on the porch there, I don’t know. But it was really embarrassing, I got so upset and I hardly ever talk much at family gatherings, much less like that. And I just wanted to stand up for something I believed in for once and voice my opinion but I got so flustered that I just had to walk away, leaving the others to continue with their stupid endeavor and everyone else feeling awkward because of my outburst.

It really wasn’t about just that squirrel anyway.

But yeah they ended up killing it, obviously. Happy Easter.
